NEW SERVICE COMING IN 2020!

Steven Quon May 24, 2019

You may recall earlier this year, how I briefly mentioned that I have a plan to incorporate the educational component into my brand. This is the next big thing that I will soon be working on. I just found myself a couple fantastic and very enthusiastic filmmakers earlier this week so that's a start.

So is it running workshops? In a way yes but not directly. Workshops are still on my list and even though I have yet to host one (I just about had my first one last year out in British Columbia), right now I am focusing on providing a service on a much larger scale, with workshops being just one small part of this service.

My initial goal still remains the same, and that is to be able to teach ANY individual or group from ANYWHERE around the world. Connect this service with my future travel's and it makes my adventure's that much more thrilling.

This is a platform service that I have had success building from the ground up for two different companies in the last five years. Well I'm about to do it again for the third time, except there is one key difference this time around, I will be the one making all the decisions on how it's structured. By adding this service, it will not only elevate my brand image, it will also add a fresh and an entirely new element that currently does not exist.

I will be starting on the big plan soon and it will take many many months and a lot of hours invested to build my platform and prepare my service. This service will launch in the first half of 2020. I'm excited!

JONATHAN FIELD WORKING HIS MAGIC WITH ARMANDO

Steven Quon May 14, 2019

Here is Jonathan Field working his magic with his boy Armando from this past week. Make sure you turn your volume up. :)

What a sight and educational experience this was to take in. As you will see and hear in the video, it was outrageously windy out (easily a 100 km/h wind) which created challenges for the both of us.

Is this production perfect? No. The wind was so strong that it made panning of the camera extremely difficult, especially when simultaneously controlling boththe horizontal and vertical axis's. The wind also gave me a real scare because it initially killed the signal on our audio feed but after some troubleshooting I was able to quickly find a workaround to address it.

I will most definitely be having one of my assistants out with me next time to man a second camera. I was very much wanting to run my B-cam (second cam) for this video but time was a factor and I wanted to keep the set up time as minimal as possible, so I felt that I would do without it. Well, I deeply regret that decision - lesson learned. Yes I am extremely hard on myself but for good reason.

This is just the start of things to come from Jonathan and I.

JOURS DE CHEVAL - SPRING 2019 EDITION

Steven Quon May 13, 2019

Thank you to 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 𝗱𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝘃𝗮𝗹 for reaching out to me this past winter wanting to put me in the Spring 2019 edition of their publication. Anne Deram it's been my pleasure working with you over the months getting this publication prepped and all finalized. Thank you for all you have done to get it all completed.

The magazine looks superb! As a photographer one has to be very analytical on how their work looks in physical media. It's no different if it's my Equine Wall Art or a 2x3" in a magazine article, it's all full representation of your work. Everyone has their own print supplier which can obviously vary in quality and this one turned out perfect - exact replica's of my original images, right down to the contrast, shadows, colors and saturation.:)

His friends define him, above all, as sincere. This is probably the reason why Steven Quon's equestrian photos radiate freshness and spontaneity. Self-taught, he is very passionate about technology and, more specifically, about video. The photograph crosses his path when he is only 20 years old, but the absence of sufficiently captivating subjects in his eyes pushes him to give up. At the chance of a meeting, in 2013, he discovered a real fascination for horses. He then finds a taste for photography and enjoys, therefore, to cross disciplines and equestrian events around the world to satisfy his new passion. Owner of a Paint Horse in Calgary (Canada), Steven explores the equine universe in all its diversity and immortalizes it in pastel colors, thanks to his Nikon D500's and D750, through deeply harmonious shots.

"In the manner of making a film, the preparations are essential. I calmly observe a scene to immerse myself in it and I anticipate the photographic result. Very often, improvisation takes over and I adjust what I had planned. It is, in fact, what makes all the charm of equine photography."

"Through my photos, I want to transcribe with authenticity the natural beauty of these unusual animals. Their way of moving, of communicating with each other and with human beings fascinates me. The horse is an extraordinary creature to photograph that I'll never get tired of."

NEW (THIRD) TYPE OF EQUINE PORTRAITURE IS COMING SOON!

Steven Quon May 8, 2019

For those of you who have senior horses, share and post a picture of them! :)How long have you had them for? I love seniors, in my opinion they are treasures, phenomenal teachers and they have a lot more to give than many realize.

Over the past year and a bit, going through my experiences with horse owners, lovers of these incredible creatures have allowed me to see quite a few partnerships and the different ways that each of us connect and communicate with these majestic animals. Each and every time that I am out there, I learn something new and that is just one of many reasons why I absolutely love what I do.

Because of this, I would like to continue expanding my Equine Portraiture service as my goals are to:

1) Have my images reach an even deeper and more emotional level.

2) As we all know, horses are the most special and forgiving animal's in the world who always live "in the moment." They sense, learn and experience many great times throughout their lives but many also endure everyday struggles, as it's just an element of life and a part of owning any animal.

So I am proud to say that I have a new (third) type of Equine Portraiture on it's way very soon! And by offering this, overtime it will add an element to my portfolio that we currently do not see.

DUBAI ARABIAN HORSE STUD

Steven Quon May 5, 2019

Well here is the final component from my Dubai trip to share, I would have loved to get it completed much sooner but unfortunately health got in the way. Thank you to Dubai Arabian Horse Stud for inviting me, I really enjoyed my time there and especially doing the barn video. This event was just a few hours in duration, it went by extremely fast. Despite being in the desert, roughly 50km outside of Dubai I was still able to get perfect cell reception to do a Facebook Live demonstrating part of the event - now that’s impressive.

These Arabians are truly one of a kind and gotta love those foals. It was a happy place for the horses to be. This was an experience that I will never forget, especially being inside that barn, much like Dubai in it’s entirety, it was magical.
