MY VIDEO BUSINESS CARD HAS BEEN UPDATED!

Steven Quon July 22, 2019

My work has gotten a lot a stronger over the past 6 months, so I was in need of an update to my Video Business Card. The purpose of my Video Business Card is for anyone to be able to see some of my best work in under two minutes.

It's a fast moving world out there and not everyone has time to filter through a website (especially one that's as involved as mine). So this is where those individuals can just sit back and take it all in.

If you were a fan 6 months ago, it's now even better. Enjoy!

MY MOST RECENT WILD HORSE TRIP

Steven Quon July 15, 2019

Here is my most recent Wild Horse trip. It turned out to be a muddy one with the big storm coming in very quickly and it's too bad that I was unable to stick around in the big open field with the lighting happening, but it was still some pretty decent environments for me to work in. A couple of the herds I recognized from last December.

I am getting closer to seeing those moments of stallions going at it, herds running, playing - I can just feel it. There were a couple occasions where I thought that this was it, it was going to happen but it didn't - very close though! All in all, as always I just love going on these trips. They can be exhausting with long days and lots of travel but they are always worth it.

Thank you to Jo App for taking some videos, you did great and hopefully you enjoyed learning from me.

THIS YEARS CALGARY STAMPEDE

Steven Quon July 12, 2019

With only a couple days left of this years Calgary Stampede, I've been asked by several people if I have any regrets on not being there this year as an exhibitor, despite having been accepted. I have no regrets as I am fully confident that I made the best decision at the time, focusing on what got me here today and preparing myself in other ways.

An excellent quote that I read last year, "Don't rush the process, good things take time." It couldn't be anymore true in my shoes.

I'm just taking it all in, I'm incredibly grateful for knowing all the wonderful people that I've worked with (including those outside of North America) and thrilling opportunities that have come my way thus far.

WILD HORSE HERDS IN BIG FIELD

Steven Quon July 10, 2019

I was very lucky to cross paths with at least 4 herds in a large field this past weekend. A couple of the herds I recall from last December with one being the blue roans. Altogether, there were at least 40 horses and 15 foals.

Just wait until you see some of the pictures that I got of these guy's especially a couple of the foals. Yes Wild Horse babies are slowly being added to my works, though it's really only two since just about all of the foals (and horses for that matter) were in the very back and it wasn't a good spot for me to travel to, nor was it a good location for pictures.

Thanks Jo AP for taking some video to show these guys. There is no sound, the birds weren't really out on this day and all you would hear is cars and heavy machinery passing by on the gravel road.

DECLINED INVITE TO SANTA ANITA PARK, CA

Steven Quon July 9, 2019

This is a very touchy subject for many including myself but I'm still putting myself out there. I received an invitation to this years Breeders' Cup at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California and I could not accept it. Why? I just can't at a track that has lost 27+ thoroughbreds since last December. What's the count at now? I lost track but it doesn't matter how you look at it, that is 27+ horse casualties and yet this year's event is still being held at this track.

For me, it's not all about the money - it never has and it never will. I do what I do because I love what I do and that all stems from my love for horses. I appreciate these animals for who they are and everything that they bring to people's lives. It's just really unfortunate that for many it's all about the money, regardless of the circumstances.
