FROM 60 DAYS, DOWN TO 6!

Down from 60, with now just six days to go! I am all packed, it was not easy getting it down to the absolute bare minimum as possible but I managed to fit one of my travel tripods in my check-in bag, bringing this is essential for one of my plans.

I just need to gradually change my sleep routine starting on Thursday, my supply of Gravol may just be my most valuable asset throughout this trip. I'm trying to keep the jet lag as minimal as possible, as I don't want to be spending days there sleeping.

I am ready and will now be there for 13 full days (was original 9.5).

My heart goes out to the families of the 157 individuals in the tragic Ethiopian Airlines plane crash near Addis Ababa. I will be making a prayer for them and lighting a candle tonight.

COORDINATING MY DUBAI TRIP

The past five weeks since announcing my formal invite to Dubai has been a little wild and chaotic in going about filling my agenda. I never would have thought that I would be forming a wait list for my time there, beginning in two and a half weeks from now.

There is still a fair amount of discussion in the pipes right now and I did receive some very big and super exciting news late last night. Otherwise, for the most part I have just about finalized my schedule.

Also if I can swing it for time and the date, there will be a new discipline added to my portfolio. This all depends if I end up extending my stay. This is a discipline that I have had numerous inquiries about over the past six months or so on whether I would have any interest in it. Anyone want to take a guess what it is?

GREAT NEWS ON MY CALGARY STAMPEDE EXHIBITOR APPLICATION!

The Calgary Stampede has ACCEPTED me on the list of exhibitors for the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth. It is wonderful to know that my brand qualifies at such a large and well known event.

However, I have decided that I want to concentrate on my clients and due to booking conflicts and horse shows that week, I feel that it's better to support my current clients.

Also, after much thinking over the past few weeks, I am a believer that by starting off at smaller shows, it will help get me organized for the larger ones and it will also allow me to see what ultimately attracts people into my booth. As much as I love envisioning the big picture, I just can't look too far ahead too soon.

So I'm going to continue to build my brand to another level before I reach a show in the magnitude of the Calgary Stampede, as I want to go in making the most impact imaginable.

Decision making will always be one of the most difficult tasks in entrepreneurship and I am just going with my gut feeling. Short term sacrifice, long term reward.

EQUINE WALL ART HEADING WITH ME TO DUBAI

My piece of Equine Wall Art for Dubai is ready! What we have here is a 12x18" canvas framed (in a floater frame, black is indented two inches, canvas has black painted edges), all in an aluminum silver finish. Very light, very portable.

This is a stunning piece, I would love another of the exact same piece in 40x60" on my wall!

2019 MANE EVENT IN RED DEER, ALBERTA.

I got the head's up last night that the Exhibitor list for this year's Mane Event Expo in Red Deer, AB has been officially released.

To my surprise, there will be no Greenhawk once again this year and to an even bigger surprise, there will be no Equine Photographer there this year. Lots of artists (which I love seeing their work) but no Equestrian photography and definitely no Equestrian videography.

Otherwise it looks like a decent list of exhibitors this year and I am really looking forward to seeing many familiar faces and brands, as well as the new vendors with unique products. There are many innovative and creative small business'es in the horse world and I always love learning more about them.

Last year I ran out of time to visit all the vendors that I was wanting to hit, this year I plan on making up for it as I will be there for all 3 days. :)

BRINGING ONE PIECE OF EQUINE WALL ART TO DUBAI

Which print to bring to Dubai? So when I head to Dubai in less than 5 weeks from now, I have made the decision to bring ONE piece of Equine Wall Art with me, in 12x18" canvas framed, to showcase to their people. I would love to show United Arab's the diverse horse culture that is here in Alberta, here in Canada but that's going to be difficult to do with just one piece, so instead I would like to perhaps introduce something new and fresh to them - something they don't necessarily see all the time over there.

Ideally, I would love to bring three pieces of Equine wall art with me but there is only so much space in my check-in luggage. Just one of the small sacrifices when travelling, otherwise I would bring my 40x60" and 20x40" prints with me. I prefer to travel light and I am not wanting to bring a second check-in luggage, since I will already be having my camera bag and my backpack with my laptops with me.

It was difficult to choose but after many discussions with others over the past few weeks, I have concluded that the image that I bring over to showcase will be one of the following:

1) Alberta Wild Horses
2) Foals
3) Candid's of the groom at the Breeders' Cup.

So here is a shortlist of my images that I am considering. Which of these three subjects do you feel would be the most beneficial for me, as an Albertan, to introduce to their culture? And ultimately which of these 7 images you would choose?

I love them all but that groom photo would be money.
There will be a lot of curiosity and I am confident that any of these 3 subjects will nail it, but which one would do it the best?
