NOW OFFERING "EQUINE WALL ART"!

Steven Quon January 12, 2019

I am so excited as it has been an enormous amount of work and many many hours over the past few weeks to get everything finalized - today marks the official launch of my new Equine Wall Art service!

I will be showing more prints as they come in throughout the month of January and perhaps into part of February if I decide to get more or we run into delays. To start, here is my very first piece of equine wall art in 40x60, canvas framed. It was completed earlier this week and it's a big one weighing just over 40lbs or 46lbs in it's box and yes that is real wood. Obviously the finished art work is not watermarked. :) To give you another perspective on just how big it is, it's equivalent to at least a 65" TV, probably closer to a 70" TV due to the frame.

This foal was captured at Fleetwood Farms Quarter Horses last July. I did make a small error in that I took this picture before I signed the artwork but now I know for next time.

Next up is one of my exclusive sizes purely for horse portraits - 20x40, paper framed. I cannot wait to see this one because it's going to be spectacular. Nobody knows which picture this will be but I will say that it was taken just recently in the month of December.

"SERIES" TO BE A BIG COMPONENT OF MY EQUINE WALL ART SERVICE

Steven Quon January 10, 2019

"Series" will be one of my most focused and coveted components of my upcoming "Equine Wall Art" service. Look for me to put a lot more attention on this technique in future pictures of mine.

WILD HORSES: DECEMBER 2018, PART 2

Steven Quon January 5, 2019

Here is my second wild horse trip from December.

This was by far my most successful trip in terms of the number of herds we ran into (6) but only a couple were in prime locations to photograph from in terms of the back drop, lighting and distance.

It lightly snowed in the morning, some locations had snow on the ground while other's were dry, so I was able to work in a nice variety of lighting conditions. My favorite was by far the blue roan herd in the snowy big open field with overcast skies, this location was pure heaven!

I did not take as many pictures this time around because I already have enough photos of these guys (though extreme majestic beauties) hanging out and eating, so I spent more time just observing and waiting for that moment to come. Still no moments of them playing but it was close! I sense this time coming very soon for me.

The #1 challenge when photographing these beauties is still most definitely not knowing what distance you can work from them. But I also believe that's what makes the experience so thrilling but yet rewarding.

The story from that day was how we ran into a bay wildie who was all alone standing in an open field. At first we thought he was waiting for his herd but after some observing, we discovered that he was in distress and most likely lost his herd. Throughout the day, we ended up running into this same horse three times with the third time right on the main road just minutes after we were taking pictures of a stallion and his herd (the final 3 pictures in this album). Then all of a sudden we see this horse trotting down the main road towards us and it was the same horse! He was on a mission to locate other horses and fortunately he ended up heading along the same path to the herd of 6 that was just there a few minutes prior to him showing up.

It's too bad he didn't come by a few minutes earlier and then we would have been able to see all the action. Now that is something that I would have loved to get video of to share.

VENDOR APPLICATION TO THE CALGARY STAMPEDE

Steven Quon January 4, 2019

As a newcomer to the Equestrian world, I am not quite sure what my chances are on my submitted application but today marks the official deadline for vendor applications to the 2019 Calgary Stampede.

So the big question is going to be, will I be there?

NEW WALL ART SERVICE - COMING JANUARY 2019!

Steven Quon January 2, 2019

I have moved up the date, my Wall Art service is coming out late January.

It is underway, I am doing a total of 5 print's with the largest one to start - a 40X60", custom framed! Just how big is a 40X60" print? HUGE! You pretty much need a van or truck just to transport it but I know that it's going to be one of my most valuable assets moving forward.

Would anyone like to take a guess on which photo of mine this will be?

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Steven Quon December 31, 2018

HAPPY NEW YEAR! I am a true believer that writing goals down and putting them out into the universe sets things in motion to achieve those goals.

My #1 resolution for the new year is that I need to get out more shooting and filming. Many people believe that I take a lot of pictures and video, unfortunately I do not. I spend majority of my time marketing and business planning. But that will change at some point in 2019, as I will have some help from a marketing specialist/team on an on-going basis to free up some of my time to put towards other things.

So what are some of your goals for the new year, [including or excluding your horse(s)]? Want to learn a new discipline? Switching from Western to English? (ha jokes)

What do you want to learn?
What do you want to start doing?
What do you want to stop doing?

Think big. Don't limit yourself in what you think you can do because of fear. Share with me how you are going to rock 2019! :)
