MY RESPONSE TO MY REQUEST LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS

Steven Quon September 30, 2019

I just finished replying back to everyone from my post on Friday looking for volunteers.

I had over 300 people contact me, wanting to work with me on my upcoming experiment. Wow, I didn't expect that big of a reaction, I thought I would be lucky to have a handful of people interested, if that. Thank you for everyone's interest. :)

When I used the term "model" in my post, I meant it in a generic way. I think many felt that I was looking specifically for someone that has (or does) posed for media, however that's not the case. I'm not superficial and anyone can look outstanding on camera, as long as that person is working with a photographer who knows what he/she is doing. I will say it again, a great portrait photographer has the ability to make 𝗮𝗻𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 look their best on camera.

There are many ingredients that make a great portrait and what I do to set the stage (which I will go much more in detail on it in my upcoming Equine Photography Workshop on November 2), but regardless of a person's age, looks, size, for me it's all about capturing that individual just being him/herself.

So where do I go from here? Well, it's going to be tough to choose but I will go through the list of names and information that I've been given and go with the opportunity that I feel will set my experiment up with what I would see to be one of the best fits and the most potential. Obviously with this many people contacting me and having this many options to choose from, I know there are many best fits, I just have to choose one. Then when the Fall colors arrive, I will set a date to make this happen.
