UPDATE ON MY UPCOMING WALL ART SERVICE

Steven Quon December 17, 2018

Completed a very successful meeting with Ned Radan and his wife Lumi yesterday (quite lengthy at just under 4 hours) to discuss details on my upcoming Wall Art service which is coming out in Q1 2019. This will be a HUGE addition to my current list of products and services, so I have been putting many hours into the planning process.

Just a couple notes that I would like to mention but while keeping it brief.

1) There will be no more custom framing option. Why? The market for this is very VERY tiny and I want to invest my time into the services that the horse world simply wants.

Choosing a frame and it's framing options for your images can be an incredibly overwhelming and daunting task for many individuals. I am still sticking to my original goal and that is to keep this service as simple as possible because the last thing that I want is to overwhelm my clients with just too much presented information. But at the same time, I always think big and I go right for the big picture and that is what I am going to present in Q1 2019.

So my goal for my clients, is to avoid that feeling of being overwhelmed altogether and to make this procedure the smoothest and most effortless experience in getting their pictures converted over to wall art. So with that being said, we will be offering an exclusive, custom, LOCALLY MADE frame, for both the Western and the English crowds. These frames are one of a kind and exact ones cannot be found anywhere else.

2) I will be offering 3 exclusive "unconventional" size options for just pure horse portraits, again framed with the custom, locally made frame. These sizes are very rarely seen, unique and it's main purpose is to offer framing options in tighter spaces such as hallways, tight corridors, small rooms and other unique spaces where conventional framing options isn't suitable.

This product and service will be well worth your wait when it comes time to launching it. :)

SNEAK PEAK TO MY UPCOMING WALL ART SIZES

Steven Quon December 4, 2018

Just a sneak peak, the sizes have been determined for my IPS (wall art service). I will be offering IPS in these 5 sizes in both frame (custom and conventional) and canvas.

12"x18"
20"x30"
24"x36"
30"x45"
40"x60"

I wanted to keep it simple but at the same time offer enough variety to cater to any client's needs. 12"x18", 20"x30" and 24"x36" are great sizes for just about any room including bedrooms, while 30"x45" and 40"x60" are sizes that you often see in museums, art halls, galleries, dining halls, large living room setups with potential high ceilings, etc. They are huge, especially that 40"x60"! All of these sizes would for sure look fantastic in pretty much any horse barn.

Next I will be going over framing styles (not frames), framing styles.

PHOTO SUBMISSION MADE TO STANDARDBRED CANADA

Steven Quon November 30, 2018

I have submitted one of my photos for Standardbred Canada's Media Excellence Awards, which will be presented at the 2018 30th Annual O'Brien Awards Ceremony.

Which photo of mine did I submit? Well this photo was published in the media along the east coast of Canada back in May of this year.

It's funny how things work out at times, I took this photo during the same visit as the photo that got chosen for the 2019 Standardbred Calendar.

Wish me luck! :)

SHOW ME YOUR SANTA HAT /CHRISTMAS PICTURES!

Steven Quon November 28, 2018

Show me your Santa hat /Christmas pictures. :)
Want one for that frame or to send to family? Christmas pictures available now, have them ready for this Christmas as I am booking now for Equine Portraiture sessions on certain days throughout the month of December.

I know that 2018 has been a very tough year for many Albertan's and especially with the severe hay shortages, weak economy, I understand that getting pictures done right now just isn't in the budget for many. But I would like to make the most out of the situation and still make many people happy come Christmas time with their horses.

MORE INFO ON MY UPCOMING IPS SERVICE

Steven Quon November 25, 2018

Just diving a bit more in detail about my IPS service launching in Q1 of 2019. I don't see this as prints, I see it as wall art and I will be offering it in two formats: (1) Canvas (2) Customized framing.

The customized framing is what I am most excited about because this is where horse lovers and owners can be really creative and tailor their frames exactly to their heart's content whether it reflects their horse(s) and their personalities, or an individual such as themselves.

When doing IPS I will be showcasing 4 pieces (to start) all in different sizes. These will be going with me just about everywhere so portability is very important. As for which 4 images I will be using, that is the fun part. Don't worry, all of these pictures will be showcased in some way or another, but only 4 will be showcased as wall art.

I am going to let you all decide which of these pictures will become my very first pieces of wall art. So I have selected 22 of my absolute favorite images to date and would like for you all to vote on the 4 that you would like to see blown up and have me showcase them as wall art.

You all know the drill - vote by either liking, loving or commenting the photo numbers in your post.

Let's just say that photo #1 is pretty much in the books, I love this photo so much that I am most likely going to blow this photo up regardless even if it's a fifth piece.

Thanks in advance for participating. I will run this poll until Thursday December 6.

IPS IS COMING IN Q1 2019!

Steven Quon November 21, 2018

IPS!!! It is currently in the works and I am excited to say that it's coming in Q1 of 2019. I am proud to announce that I have just joined forces with Resolve Photographic Services here in Calgary, AB to provide me with their absolutely spectacular, one of a kind print services.

One question that I get asked all the time is "Do I do prints and if not, will I be offering this service in the future?"

Picturing my work on people's walls was always a goal of mine right from the get go but print service was not in my original business plan last year (I had my reasons for not including it and with no regrets), but as time went on and I got more and more requests for offering it, I eventually added this to my list. But I don't see print service as just that, I see it as much more beyond that. As always, I look and go right for the big picture and that is IPS.

I am envisioning exactly how I would like to offer this service but it's still in the early stages as l am currently going over pricing structures, framing and print options at this time. Again, quality over quantity! It's not going to be just any ordinary service, I plan on tailoring it to exactly how horse lovers and people in the equestrian world want it.

I may take lovely photos but by no means do I consider myself a print, framing or home-interior expert. So this is where my Interior Designer and framing expert comes into play and will work closely with me.

I will be making another follow up announcement hopefully some time before the year end as we get a bit closer. Resolve Photo is quite busy at this times of year so there are no guarantees but we are trying our best.

Thank you to Pamela Johnson Converse for giving me a final kick in the butt to finally convince me to get serious and put my game face on in the IPS universe. :)

Even though I am not a landscape photographer, here is one photo of mine from this past summer that has been asked for by many people and since I currently do not have any framed photos of mine (it will come and I promise that it will be well worth your wait!), I figured I would just re-show this image.

Stay tuned for updates. :)
